Chapter 1
Return Of Bernard’s Best Friend

One day at Santa’s workshop Bernard is looking really sad. Curtis walked over to Bernard.
“Why do you look so sad?” Curtis asked.
“I really miss my best friend.” Bernard answered.
“What’s your best friend’s name?” Curtis asked.
“My best friend’s name is Gabriella Starr.” Bernard answered.
“Your best friend is a girl?” Curtis asked.
Bernard nodded his head.
“Yes my best friend is girl.” Bernard answered.
“When was the last time that you saw her?” Curtis asked.
“The last time that I saw her was when we went to Elf school together.” Bernard answered.
“How long was that?” Curtis asked.
“It’s been almost 15 years.” Bernard answered.
All of sudden someone tapped Bernard on the shoulder. Bernard turned around to find Gabriella standing behind him but he doesn’t recognize her at first.
“Hi Bernard, it’s been a long.” Gabriella said.
“Is that you Gabriella?” Bernard asked.
“Yes it is.” Gabriella answered.
Bernard hugged Gabriella.
“It’s so great to see you again.” Bernard said.
Curtis smiled.
“Hi, I’m Curtis.” Curtis replied.
“It’s nice too me you.” Gabriella said.
“How would you like to go out with sometime?” Curtis asked.
“No thanks.” Gabriella answered.
“Why don’t you?” Curtis asked.
“I’m in love with someone but I’m too scared to tell him.” Gabriella answered.
Bernard took Gabriella out of earshot.
“Who are you in love with?” Bernard asked.
“I’m in love with the newest member of my gang of friends.” Gabriella answered.
“What is his name?” Bernard asked.
“His name is Gabriel Bennett.” Gabriella answered.
“Does he know that you feel this way about him?” Bernard asked.
“No, he doesn’t because I’m too scared to tell him.” Gabriella answered.
“Why are you scared?” Bernard asked.
“I’m scared that he won’t feel the same way and I don’t want my father to find out.” Gabriella answered.
“Why don’t you want your father to find out?” Bernard asked.
“I don’t want him finding out because I know that he won’t approve because Gabriel is 13 years older than me.” Gabriella answered.
Bernard sighed.
“I’d really like someone to be in love with but nobody hear is my type.” Bernard said.
Gabriella noticed her other best friend Noël Hatter coming over. Gabriella smiled and hugged Noël.
“It’s so good to have my two best friends with me.” Gabriella said.
Noël suddenly noticed Bernard and fell madly in love with him. Bernard smiled at Noël.
“Hi, I’m Santa’s head elf Bernard and Gabriella’s best friend.” Bernard replied.
“I’m Gabriella’s other best friend Noël Hatter and it’s nice to finally meet you.” Noël said.
“What do you mean finally meet me?” Bernard asked.
“Gabriella has talked about you a lot.” Noël answered.
Bernard smiled and Noël blushed. Gabriella noticed Noël blushing and took her out of earshot.
“Are you in love with Bernard by any chance?” Gabriella asked.
“Yes I am because he’s most gorgeous elf I’ve ever met.” Noël answered.
“I know that feeling.” Gabriella said.
“Are you talking about Gabriel?” Noël asked.
“Yes I am and I really miss him.” Gabriella answered.
“Have you talked your parents about your crush on him?” Noël asked.
“No I haven’t and it’s not a crush.” Gabriella answered.
“What is that than?” Noël asked.
“I don’t really but I do that I really like him.” Gabriella answered.
“Really like who?” A voice asked.
Gabriella gasped and turned around to find Gabriel standing behind her.
“It’s nobody really.” Gabriella answered.
Gabriel rolled his eyes.
“Come on Gabby, you know that’s the truth.” Gabriel said.
“Wow, you didn’t mad when he called you by your nickname.” Noël replied.
All of a sudden Gabriella’s father Emmanuel and her mother Emmanuella walked over. Emmanuel looked at Gabriella.
“Could I talk to you alone?” Emmanuel asked.
‘Yeah of course dad.” Gabriella answered.
Emmanuel and Gabriella walked over earshot.
“Is there something you’ve been avoiding to tell me?” Emmanuel asked.
“Yes there is because I’m scared that you won’t approve.” Gabriella answered.
“I want you to tell me right now young lady.” Emmanuel said.
Gabriella sighed.
“I’m in love with Gabriel.” Gabriella replied.
“You’re right I don’t approve.” Emmanuel said.
“Dad, I really like him.” Gabriella replied.
“Well that’s tough because you’re not dating someone that is 13 years older than you.” Emmanuel said.
“You’re not being fair dad.” Gabriella replied.
Gabriella ran off. Emmanuella walked over to her husband.
“What did you say to her?” Emmanuella asked.
“I told that didn’t’ want her dating Gabriel because he’s 13 years older than her.” Emmanuel answered.
Gabriella’s older brother Malakai went after her. Malakai found Gabriella sitting on the steps coming into Santa’s workshop.
“What’s wrong little sister?” Malakai asked.
“I want to be with Gabriel Bennett but dad won’t let me.” Gabriella answered.
“Do you want me to talk to him?” Malakai asked.
“Yes I would because if anyone can get through to him it’s you.” Gabriella answered.
“That’s true because he didn’t like it when I started dating Margaret.” Malakai said.
Gabriella hugged Malakai. Gabriella and Malakai walked back over to the others. Gabriella whimpered. Gabriel got a worried look on his face. Gabriella whimpered again than fainted. Gabriel caught Gabriella in his arms. Emmanuel shook his head. Gabriella opened her eyes and noticed that she’s in Gabriel’s arms than she blushed. Gabriel smiled.
“Are you okay?” Gabriel asked.
Gabriella shook her head no.
“No, I’m not.” Gabriella answered.
Gabriel got an even more worried look.
“Is there anything I can do?” Gabriel asked.
“No, not really.” Gabriella answered.
“Are you sure?” Gabriel asked.
“Yeah I’m sure.” Gabriella answered.
Emmanuel rolled his eyes and Gabriel noticed.
“What’s your problem?” Gabriel asked.
“I don’t want my daughter dating someone older than her because I don’t want her to get hurt.” Emmanuel answered.
“Well there’s no harm in that happening if she’s with me because I’d protect her at all costs.” Gabriel said.
“Is that a promise?” Emmanuel asked.
“Yes sir it is.” Gabriel answered.
“Does that mean I can be with him?” Gabriella answered.
“Yes it does but if he breaks that promise than I’ll make sure he pays for it.” Emmanuel said.
Gabriel smiled.
“Does that mean that you like me too?” Gabriel asked.
“Yes it does but like isn’t the word would use.” Gabriella answered.
“What would you use?” Gabriel asked.
“I’m madly and completely in love with you.” Gabriella answered.
“Are you now?” Gabriel asked.
“Yes I am.” Gabriella answered.
Gabriel pulled Gabriella close and kissed her. A few hours later Gabriella is in her bed dreaming of Gabriel. Gabriel is in his bed reaming of Gabriella. Emmanuel and Emmanuella are sleeping in each other’s arms. Noël is in her bed dreaming of Bernard. Santa and Carol are sleeping in other's embrace.
