This a story that I wrote back in High School. I thought that teacher still had but my mother found it with a bunch of my school stuff awhile back so I would share it with everyone:
A Little Lost Dolphin Written by Rolanda MacLure
Once upon a time there was a baby dolphin named Coral. Coral lived with her mother Jade. Coral was just learning how to swim.
"Coral watch out for those sea plants.” Jade yelled.
Corel swam right into the sea plants.
“Oh that hurt.” Coral whined.
“Well I told you to watch out.” Jade said.
Jade swam over to Coral and gave her ha hug.
“Can I swim around for awhile?” Coral asked.
“Yes, you can.” Jade answered.
Jade swam into a cave where she lived with Coral. Coral swam around for awhile. A starfish off in the distance caught Coral’s eye. Coral swam off to find the starfish. Jade came out looking for Coral.
“Coral.” Jade yelled.
There was no answer because Coral was too far away to hear her mother calling to her at all. All of a sudden Coral noticed that she was lost.
“Someone help me.” Coral screamed.
An Octopus named Lefty heard Coral yell and swam over to her.
“Why are you yelling for help?” Lefty asked.
“I’m lost and don’t know which way to get home. I’m also not supposed to talk to strangers.” Coral answered.
“Don’t worry little one I’m a nice Octopus.” Lefty said.
“Really you are?” Coral asked.
“Yes really I am. I need your name and where you live so I can help you get home safely.” Lefty answered.
“My name is Coral and I live in a cave with my mother Jade by the Coral Reef.” Coral said.
“Well that explains how you got your name.” Lefty replied.
“What’s your name Mr. Octopus?” Coral asked.
“My name is Lefty.” Lefty answered.
“Can you help me get home Lefty?” Coral asked.
“Yes, I can Coral.” Lefty answered.
They are talking while they are swimming and soon they reached Coral’s home.
“Thanks so much for helping me find my home Lefty.” Coral said.
Lefty smiled at Coral. Jade came swimming out the cave where they lived.
“Where did you go Coral?” Jade asked.
“I saw a starfish off in the distance so I followed it and before long I was lost.” Coral answered.
Jade suddenly noticed Lefty and looked at Coral.
“Who is this Octopus?” Jade asked.
“My name is Lefty and I found Coral up by my place so I brought her home.” Lefty answered.
“Thank you Lefty for bringing Coral home.” Jade said.
“No problem.” Lefty replied.
Lefty swam off back to his home.
Jade hugged Coral.
“Don’t you ever get lost again because you gave me a scare.” Jade said.
Coral nodded her head. Coral starts to swim around again. Coral never got lost again and Lefty came for visits a lot.
